BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Bravettes lose to Big Sky, Whitefish boys rout Eureka
MISSOULA — A strong start didn’t end well for the Flathead Bravettes Thursday evening.
Flathead held a 13-9 advantage after the first eight-minutes of play, but fell behind after that to trail 22-19.
Missoula Big Sky then pulled away in the second half for a 53-38 Western AA girls basketball victory.
Tiana Johnson and Kelsey Gillespie led Flathead in scoring with 15 and 10 points, respectively. McKenna Arledge and Anna Gragg had 12 each for Big Sky.

Serena Koch led Stillwater (3-5 overall, 1-1 league) in scoring with 17 points. Dori Smith tallied 10.
Lulu Neumann had 10 rebounds for Stillwater.

EUREKA — Eureka avenged a season-opening loss, coming back to defeat Whitefish.
Amanda Peterson scored 18 points to lead the Lions and Ashlyn Waldo chipped in 10. The two teams met to open their seasons in Whitefish, a game the Bulldogs won 36-26.
Dani Douglas scored 16 points in a losing effort.

The win is Whitefish’s second straight and second this season against the Lions.

FVHS outscored Stillwater 26-19 in the fourth quarter to force the overtime.
Isaac Neumann led Stillwater with 33 points. BJ Bach added 15 and Joe Hooker 13. Jay Baker topped FVHS with 23 points. Taylor Tichbourne added 12, Caleb Gwynn 11 and Paul Artyomenko 10.
