LAW ROUNDUP: Police not amused about stolen pork

A Flathead County Sheriff’s deputy escorted a man back to an Evergreen store, where the man had been accused of stealing a whole ham.

A woman agreed to leave her children with their grandmother on Trumble Creek Loop, after the grandmother called to ask that the mother be removed from the home. The grandmother claimed the mother had been trading food stamps for methamphetamine. The woman agreed to leave the home, but did not admit to taking the food stamps. She did admit to meth usage.

Deputies responded to Columbia Falls where a business’s check book had been stolen. The thief allegedly tried to cash checks around town. The business owner said the thief told her that he had written more than 20 bad checks.

A resident on a Farm-to-Market Road in Kalispell was unhappy after he caught a man on a bicycle going through his mailbox. The man said he didn’t know the suspect, but knew that he was a new neighbor.


Columbia Falls Police were dispatched to Ninth Street West where a woman wanted her son removed from her home after a dispute where he yelled and slammed doors. The son initially left the house, but returned and allegedly threw a pair of socks at his mother.  


A woman on West Lakeshore Drive reported to Whitefish Police that earrings and a first aid kit had been stolen from her unlocked car during the night.


Kalispell Police were told that a woman had misplaced her money after she reported it missing from a Teal Drive residence. Prior to finding the funds, the woman thought her neighbors might have stolen it.

An officer was unable to locate a suspect after someone reported that a man had jumped at a passing car and screamed at the driver for no reason near the intersection of 11th Street West and South Main Street.

Officers told a woman on Liberty Street to dispose of alcohol found and come to the station and file a report after the woman let a pregnant teen and a newborn stay with the family. The woman found drug paraphernalia after the teen left with her boyfriend. The teen and boyfriend were allegedly sending the woman threatening messages.
