WRESTLING: Flathead 2nd, Eureka 3rd at Cut Bank Invitational

CUT BANK — Flathead, led by defending Class AA state champion Trae Vasquez, finished second behind Havre at the Cut Bank Invitational wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Class A Havre totaled 235.5 points at the two-day event compared to Flathead’s 198.5 score.

Class B Eureka had a strong showing by finishing third with a 196 score.

Whitefish, 88, was 10th.

Vasquez won his championship match at 120 with a 15-1 major decision over Martin Wilkie of Havre.

Vasquez is undefeated on the season.

Flathead had two wrestlers finish second — Hunter Rush at 103 and Cody DeVall at 113.

Eureka had a finalist in Garret Graves at 170. He finished second.

Havre had seven in the finals with Logan Pleninger (132), Parker Filius (152) and Travis Adams (285) winning titles.
