Betty Lou Robertson Showen Funseth Schurr “Trapper Betty,” 90, passed away on Dec. 15, 2015, at her home in Whitefish surrounded by her husband, John, and daughters.

She was born June 27, 1925, to John and Margaret Robertson. After graduating high school she lived in California for a few years.

Betty managed the Isaak Walton Inn with her friend Rosie Hamilton in the late ’50s. She moved to Whitefish where she worked at the Hanging Tree and the Whitefish Lake Golf Course. She also managed the VFW for Barb Gallo. She was an avid horsewoman, hunter, trapper, and fisherman.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and a grandson.

She is survived by her husband, John; three daughters, JoAnn Rider, Chuckie Hannon and Pattie Showen; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in warmer weather (she hated the cold) most likely on her birthday, June 27.

Austin Funeral Home is caring for the family.
