Mary Isabelle Ingalls, 84

Mary Isabelle Ingalls, 84, passed away of natural causes in Polson on Jan. 9, 2016.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1931, in Lewistown.

She was raised in Utica, Montana, on the Circle Bar Guest Ranch. She got her teaching certificate from Eastern Montana College and began teaching school in a two-room school house in Utica. She continued to teach elementary school in Lewistown until her retirement in 1987.

They moved to Polson in 1997 where they enjoyed golf, reading, crossword puzzles and their retirement. She was most known for not wanting to burden anyone and for her soft-spoken nature.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bill and Ruth Korell; daughter, Teresa; son-in-law, Tony Hay; and grandsons, Willie and Andy Hay.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck Ingalls; children, Dennis Duty and Karen, Phil Duty and Brenda, Kathy Altenhofen and Mike, and David Duty and Joanna; stepdaughter Judy Taylor, stepdaugther Rosemary Bisch and Bill, stepdaughter Cindy Geary and Bill, and stepdaughter Lindy Friman and Mike; stepson Charles Ingalls and Brenda, and stepson James Ingalls and Gina; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Colleen and Bill, brother Phil and Karen, and brother Jake and Karen.

Join us to celebrate Isabelle’s life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Polson Red Lion Inn.
