Norman Leroy 'Norm' Julian, 85

Norman Leroy “Norm” Julian, 85, a resident of The Dalles, Oregon, and formerly of Kalispell, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015.

Norman was born Jan. 27, 1930, in Casper, Wyoming, the oldest of three children to Nelson and Leora (Gholston) Julian. He grew up in Northern California, graduating from Hayward High School in 1948 and then attending Fullerton State University.

Norman served in the U.S. Navy, stationed on the island of Guam during the Korean conflict.

He worked 35-plus years at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, as a coordinator in various departments, the last being the Plant Engineering Department.

On June 7, 1997, he and Beverly Jean Fleming were married in Bigfork. Norman enjoyed spending time with family, sailing, golf, gardening and his beloved dogs, Buddy and Tana.

He touched so many lives; everyone that was lucky enough to know him was blessed.

He will be remembered for his good nature, his wit and the amazing husband, father, brother, grandpa and friend he was.

Norman is survived by the love of his life, wife Beverly; sisters, Helene and Rosalinda; children, Laura, Christian and Andrea; stepchildren, Gerry, Michael, Jason and Stephanie; and also 14 grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held in June. Details can be obtained from family members.

Private cremation was held at Win-Quatt Crematory in The Dalles with arrangements under the care of Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.
