Dorothy Anna (Edley) Terrell, 64

| January 22, 2016 6:00 AM

On Jan. 9, 2016, Dorothy Anna (Edley) Terrell “was granted the peace she had so desperately been seeking” since her father passed away several years before.

Dorothy was born on Oct. 7, 1961, in Alameda County, California. Throughout her life, Dorothy was blessed with the chance to see America from coast to coast. She was raised in a Christian home and remained faithful to her beliefs, always praying and encouraging her children to live a godly life.

Dorothy married her surviving husband, Timothy A. Terrell, on Jan. 1, 1979, in Reno, Nevada. They had celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary less than two weeks earlier.

Dorothy’s greatest joy in life came from being a wife, mother and grandmother to her six children and nine grandchildren. In her eyes, there was no sacrifice too big to make in the name of her family. In 2008, she and her family moved to Montana for the birth of her first granddaughter. She spent the rest of her days on earth watching her grandchildren learn and grow into amazing individuals.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father James Edley, 1935-1996; and her mother Marjorie (McIntosh) Edley, 1939-2015.

She is survived by her seven younger siblings, Sheila and Mike, James and Valaurie, David and Thomie, Marie and Bernie, Dawn and Jimmy, Delma, and Stacie and Joel. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren, John, Timothy and Amanda, Thomas, Dottie, Jennifer and James, Elizabeth, Timothy Jr., Josephine, Isabella, Jene, John, Nikoli, Deron, Daniel and Max.

Dorothy came from a large, close family, and she is survived by many family and friends who miss her deeply.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at North Valley Physical Therapy Room, 235 Nucleus Ave. in Columbia Falls.
