LEGION BASEBALL: Mission Valley Mariners stumble in Missoula

MISSOULA — Mission Valley outhit Missoula but the Mavericks AA scored seven times in the third inning and raced to a 13-4 win over the Mariners A on Saturday.

The Mariners collected eight hits, including two apiece for Anthony Jones and Nyqolas Gillingam. Gillingham’s day included a double and Mission Valley’s lone RBI.

Julian Jones started on the mound and took the loss for the Mariners.

Derek Potter earned the win for the Mavericks. Nick Yovetich tripled and drove in three runs to lead Missoula’s six-hit attack.
