LAW ROUNDUP: Woman manages flaming chicken situation with officer's help

Columbia Falls Police were told they could stand down after a woman called from Riverwood Drive to say that there had been some substantial flames after the chicken she was grilling “got away from her.” The woman was able to extinguish the bird by herself.


Whitefish Police arrested a woman for driving under the influence of alcohol on U.S. 93 after someone reported seeing her swerve all over the roadway.

Officers scoured the area after someone reported hearing gunshots on Wisconsin Avenue, but nothing appeared to be amiss.

A woman asked for help after her Facebook account was hacked. She was told to change her log-in information.


Flathead County Sheriff’s Office responded to Stillwater Road, where a boy’s father agreed to repair the damage his son had allegedly done to a neighbor’s irrigation pump.

A son was taken to jail from a Bigfork residence after he allegedly threatened to use a Taser on his mother’s boyfriend after the mom asked the son to clean up a mess.

A woman in Lakeside went against the advice of an officer who told her to not touch a fawn that her grandson found in the woods with possible injuries. The woman decided to pick the deer up and take it into the woods in hopes that its mother would take it back. The officer warned that the mother might not take the animal back because of prior human contact.

A woman reported that she had rescued a turtle from a potentially perilous crossing at Birch Grove Road.

Deputies were unable to locate a man in Whitefish who called and claimed that he had been assaulted by six individuals, but did not want an ambulance.


Kalispell Police told a man in Utah that while it was unfortunate that he had paid a contractor $5,750 in 2014 to put a roof on his Woodland Avenue home, the fact that the contractor had not done the job was a civil issue.
