County pumped up over alleged theft
Columbia Falls Police responded to a theft complaint by the County Health Department that a woman would not return a breast pump that belonged to the county. Police were able to contact the woman, who said she would return the breast pump.
Police were unable to find a man after Dairy Queen employees said they saw him drinking out of a Bud Light can as he sat in the driver’s seat of a car. The employees reported that they could smell alcohol on the man.
Police watched a man on a skateboard flip off a driver with both hands. When an officer contacted the man, the skateboarder said someone in the vehicle had been taking pictures of him, which the man said he had learned in school was illegal. The officer informed the skateboarder it was not illegal, and suggested he refrain from such actions in the future.
Whitefish Police received a call from a security guard at Iron Horse, the private golf community, saying that two men with dogs and no flashlights were walking on the property. The guard said he had informed the dog walkers they were on private property, then drove into the next driveway to turn around. The security guard said when he passed the men again, they “scattered.” Police said they would drive through the area.
Police were called to Central Avenue to respond to a fight between four male friends. Police found the men walking toward a pizza joint. No arrests were made. Police were later called again, when two of the men were allegedly in a fight outside a bar. The men were allegedly belligerent and throwing cups at a taxi driver because he wouldn’t take them home. The subjects allegedly had British accents. They were returned to their motel.
The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a Kalispell man who said he was being scammed over Skype. The man said the scammers somehow got a video of him. The office is investigating the case.
Officers were unable to locate a woman and man with a baby in a stroller who were allegedly panhandling for the last three days in Kalispell. A witness told police the baby was sunburnt and and was “not doing well.”
Officers responded to a temporary restraining order violation. A woman reported that her daughter’s ex has been calling the house in the middle of the night, saying “hello” and breathing into the phone.
A Bigfork resident reported that an unknown woman called her and asked if she was “selling the children” because the caller had “buyers to go.”
A Kalispell area resident reported that there are always “sketchy people” coming and going from a neighbor’s apartment.
A person reported seeing a picture on Facebook of a woman dunking a child’s head in the toilet with the caption, “That’s what you get for throwing toys.” The person was instructed to call Child Protective Services if they thought children were being disciplined in an inappropriate way.
