LETTER: Commissioners lauded for trying to reject refugees

| June 10, 2016 4:30 PM

Thank you, Flathead County commissioners, for being united on your recent votes to stop an influx of Syrian refugees into Flathead County.

That is possibly a strong comment that many would say goes against the principles of American beliefs. We have welcomed refugees into our country for over 200 years. However, these refugees have become American citizens for religious, political, or ethical reasons. We know, from what Europe is presently experiencing today, that the refugees from the Syrian conflicts are not like the refugees America has welcomed for all these years.

We also know that many of the refugees are being planted as representatives of Islamic terrorism. Europe is proof of this. All one has to do is heed the words of Omar Ahmad, the founder of CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations), who said in 1994, and I quote: “Islam is not in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.” Need I say more?

So, again, thank you, Flathead Country commissioners, for being concerned for the safety and well being of Flathead County citizens. You will get my vote in any future elections. —Allan J. Fredrickson, Kalispell
