An employee of an East Second Street business called the Whitefish Police Department when an out-of-town RV was discovered parked in front of the business taking up four or five parking spots. The vehicle had parked parallel over several diagonal parking spaces. Officers made contact with the vehicle’s owners to have it moved.

A downed tree across Oregon Avenue was blocking traffic on Saturday. Officers, with assistance from the Whitefish Fire Department and a chainsaw, were able to clear the roadway without incident.

A Baker Avenue resident called police to report that an unknown vehicle had pulled into their driveway and two men got out and began fighting and yelling. The men then allegedly got back into the vehicle and drove away. The resident just wanted the incident logged, and requested some extra patrols throughout the evening.

A woman told police her dog had been attacked at the dog park, and even though she had exchanged contact information with the offending dog’s owner, she had been unable to contact the other owner to collect money to pay the veterinary bill. Officers advised the woman how to proceed with a civil complaint.

A caller told police there was a group of people yelling and screaming, throwing items and “breaking stuff” in a building on Spokane Avenue. Officers advised the group making the noise to keep it down.

A caller on Ninth Street West told the Columbia Falls Police Department that either gun shots or fireworks could be heard nearby. The caller was concerned about the steady, loud noise, saying it “sounds odd.” The caller was told there was a fireworks display going on in the area the noises were coming from.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to reports of an illegal burn on East Evergreen Drive.
