LAW ROUNDUP: Pantsless man high-tails it in heels
A man described as having a shaved head and possibly wearing a dress, or long shirt, no pants and no underwear allegedly put on a pair of black high heels and stole them from a North Main Street business, according to Kalispell Police Department. The man was eventually caught and cited and the shoes returned.
An employee on Third Avenue East said three men and one woman allegedly stole air conditioners and left in a blue van.
A truck may have snagged a telephone line on Third Avenue East North.
Someone on Windriver Drive said checks were stolen from a mailbox and cashed at a bank.
Dispatchers received a non-emergency call from someone who sounded like a teenage boy calling to say he was at Woodland Park and “said he is friendly; just wanted to see how my day was going,” before hanging up.
An employee on East Idaho Street wanted police to tell “bums sleeping in the grass” to move along and voiced concerns they might vandalize the building. Subjects were advised of warrants and moved on.
A vehicle “almost caused three accidents cutting people off” on Whitefish Stage Road.
A concerned employee of a First Avenue West business said a frumpy looking woman, believed to be either wasted or mentally ill, came inside the building and wanted a ride. She left the store after five minutes and “crossed the street with no regard to traffic.”
A woman didn’t like that six teenage boys were on her Empire Loop property. She requested extra patrol even after the teens headed toward the park when she told them to get off her property.
A woman picked up and dropped off another woman at the police station after learning that area shelters were full. The woman stayed the night in the lobby.
A caller reported a road rage incident on Fourth Avenue East and East Center Street when a white Suburban allegedly backed out of a driveway at a “high rate of speed” and almost rammed the caller’s vehicle, then sped up in apparent anger. When the caller’s vehicle stopped, a male driver got out of the Suburban with some sort of club and came toward the other vehicle, which wisely took off.
A woman on Fourth Avenue East was likely disturbed to find that a man, who helped her move yesterday, had reportedly broken through a window and was standing over her while she was sleeping. She said he had asked if he could live with her yesterday and she said no. Extra patrol was put into place.
A window was broken out of a vehicle on U.S. 93 North, and CDs, prescription eyeglasses and a couple of packs of cigarettes were reported stolen.
A woman on U.S. 2 East believed that four shots she heard, along with a horn honk, were caused by people who were “probably fighting and mething out” at a nearby apartment building, according to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.
A new resident on Hare Trail in Whitefish didn’t get the neighborhood welcome he expected when his motorcycle was reported stolen off a moving van.
A window was discovered busted out of a truck at U.S. 2 East in Kalispell.
A dog reportedly broke through a fence and tried to attack a resident on Battle Hollow Avenue.
Two other dogs were reported on the run and heard barking aggressively at passers-by on Blaine View Lane.
A woman’s truck was stolen on U.S. 2 East. The vehicle was eventually returned to her, but there wasn’t enough information to locate the suspect who fled the scene after jumping a fence into a field near Rose Crossing.
A woman on La Brant Road wanted to file a report of damage she claimed had been done to her door when 10 men allegedly kicked it down in May. She also wanted to document “a large conspiracy” involving her husband’s estate.
The lore of an alleged 10-year feud between neighbors on Spill Lake Road continued when one neighbor said she and her husband were threatened when they moved some construction items off of their fence — a fence built, they claimed, because of neighbor issues. The other neighbor stated the man and woman had come onto his property throwing his items on the roadway and when he confronted them, the man “got in his face” and he pushed him away.
A graduation party proved to be a little too raucous for someone who called officers on Collier Lane. While party-goers were told to keep it down, the caller was advised that there is no noise ordinance in Flathead County.
A man discovered taking a nap in a vehicle parked on private property on U.S. 93 South was told to move along by Whitefish Police Department.
A woman on Sunset View Court was looking out for her neighbors when she told police the neighbors’ doors were wide open and when she called out to them at the door no one answered.
“Hobos” were allegedly “taking over an abandoned house” on City Beach, according to a police report. The hobos were removed and received a verbal warning by officers.
A Baker Avenue resident asked for extra patrol on the street because people kept partying in her drive way and front yard.
Someone reported that about seven transients were camping under a train trestle on a bike path.
