Carole Cote Romey, 74
Carole Cote Romey passed away peacefully on June 19, 2016, at the age of 74, in Kalispell due to complications of a stroke.
Born to Ted and Sue Cote on Sept. 3, 1941, Carole grew up in Helena, where she graduated from Cathedral High school. Following graduation, Carole married and started a family. She had four children whom she loved and enjoyed being with. Early on, Carole became interested in real estate and thus began her lifelong career as an exceptional businesswoman. Carole stood firm in believing that with determination and hard work comes great reward, and she was satisfied in helping others achieve success in a like manner.
She was a longtime resident of Helena, Lincoln and Kalispell. Carole loved the outdoors — skiing, boating, nature in general and as she would say “picinics.” Her favorite place to “picinic” was Flathead Lake. She loved the beauty of the mountains, the greenery of the valley and the lake in all its glory. Most of all, Carole loved family. With four children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, life was abundant and meaningful for Carole, as she loved each and every one of them immensely. Carole knew the meaning of family and never lost the thread to her family values.
She is survived by her mother, Sue Cote, of Helena; her four children, daughter Teresa Newins (Tom) of Anchorage, Alaska, and their children, Brianne and Beau; son Pat Brewer (Brenda) of Jefferson City and their children Patrick and Jeffrey; daughter Tracy Hobbs (Tim) of Savannah, Georgia; and son Christopher; daughter Rebecca Kosena (Ian) of Kalispell and her children, Tatum and Tyzer. Also surviving Carole is brother Joe Cote (Mimi) of Helena.
Carole was preceded in death by her father, Ted Cote, her grandfather Mathias Cote, and her beloved grandmother Blanch Cote.
Carole will be missed immensely by family and loved ones. We take comfort in knowing that through her love for God we will see her again one day.
“The Lord make His face shine upon you ...” Numbers 6:25a
Per Carole’s wishes, a small family service will take place July 3 in East Helena at St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made in lieu of flowers to hospice of Kalispell.
