LAW ROUNDUP: Grisly mystery stains prompt investigation
Columbia Falls Police responded to Diane Road after a contractor inspecting a building found a crawlspace with what appeared to be a large amount of dried blood inside of it. An officer took swabs of the substance and sent it to the Montana State Crime Lab for analysis. The officer was not certain the stains were of blood.
Whitefish Police responded to Central Avenue, where an establishment reported that a man was making inappropriate comments to employees.
A man called police to report that his gear had been stolen as he slept in a local park. The man was told that he was not allowed to camp within city limits.
Kalispell Police were unable to locate two small children who were allegedly seen driving down the middle of Liberty Street in an electric car without proper supervision from an adult.
A hotel worker reported that when he or she asked a man to leave the establishment, the man threatened the worker with a crowbar. An officer collected statements from those involved. The man left the scene.
An officer collected suspected crystalline drugs that were found in a baggie off U.S. 2. The baggie was sent off to be properly destroyed.
A man on North Main Street did not get very far by being sour with officers. He called for assistance after he locked himself out of his car. When a dispatcher told the man all officers were busy and that he would have to wait, the man responded by saying that his tax dollars were being wasted. He did get to speak to an officer, who advised him that he should find someone else to unlock the vehicle.
A woman drove by a drive-through window and was worried after she saw a man standing at the order window, banging on the window, “having a fit.” An officer determined that the man was an employee who took a smoke break after the restaurant was locked. He had been trying to get back in to finish working.
