June Marie Netherly, 86

| May 6, 2016 6:00 AM

June “went to be with the Lord” on April 30, 2016, shortly after she celebrated her and Dave’s 68th wedding anniversary that same day. She was surrounded by her loving family.

June was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, the youngest of six siblings. She and Dave met in 1947 after he was out of the service, and she was working at Sears. They married on April 30, 1948. They had three sons, Tim, Bruce and Mike. When Mike was a few months old, they picked up and moved to sunny southern California to start a new life. They had four more children, Dona, Vickie, Barbara, and son James.

In 1969 they made a big move to the beautiful Flathead Valley, where they built a home on Wilson Heights and finished raising their kids. June was a homemaker; she loved that job more than anything. She was a waitress and cook at Bair’s restaurant, Husky’s Truck Stop and the Galley Wagon.

She continued to enjoy her grandchildren, and one fond memory of theirs was piling into the truck and making a dump run with Grandma. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. (Grandmothers are just antique little girls.)

After retirement they moved to Village Greens and continued enjoying their lives. Around two years ago, Mom started showing signs of dementia. In November of 2015, she entered Genesis Health Care in Whitefish. Many thanks to the nurses and certified nursing assistants for caring for our mom “June-Bug.” She’ll be missed by many. “We Love you Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma.”
