LAW ROUNDUP: Sweet tooth the least of her problems

Kalispell Police responded to West Idaho Street where a business owner was unsure if he or she wanted to press charges against a woman who allegedly walked out of the store without paying for a candy bar. The woman already had multiple warrants out for arrest for theft.

An officer counseled a couple about warrants out of another county after someone complained that the pair were arguing near the intersection of Eighth Avenue West and Seventh Street West. The female half of the duo had a large stick in her hand at the time of the dispute. An officer determined that the argument was only verbal.

A gun was stolen from a vehicle parked outside a business on Fourth Avenue West North. The crime was allegedly caught on camera.

A man called from East Idaho Street to report that two weeks after doing business with a local service provider, the business was allegedly sending him threatening messages via Facebook. The man said he was not looking to press charges, but wanted police aware of the incident.


Columbia Falls Police took a report from a man on Seventh Avenue West, where a man had wired $1,200 to a fraudster who claimed to be with the Internal Revenue Service.


Whitefish Police took a man to jail for misdemeanor assault after he was seen allegedly pulling another man out of a vehicle, beating him and then going into a bar.
