LAW ROUNDUP: Dad, not bandit, banging on door

Kalispell Police found a helpful dad instead of a suspected burglar after someone witnessed a man on First Street West bang on a door and then try to get it off its hinges. The man said that he was replacing the door for his daughter.

An officer asked a man and woman to work things out civilly after the woman claimed that she had paid $100 to store items at a property, but faced a dilemma since the property owner had threatened to throw the items in a yard on Ninth Street West and set them afire.

Parties were separated at Battle Ridge Drive, where someone heard six shots fired, heard screaming and then found two men in a fight. The men were taken to separate locations after the altercation.

An officer responded after someone called and said a man walked into a casino and started beating another man sitting at a gambling machine. The officer determined that the incident was a case of mistaken identity and that the altercation had not actually been physical.

Columbia Falls Police arrested a woman for assault and cited and released a man on 12th Street West after someone called to report that the pair were allegedly arguing loudly over drugs and had ripped a mirror off the car.

Whitefish Police responded to West Second Street, where someone reported that the lock to a fuel tank had been cut, but that no fuel was apparently stolen.
