LAW ROUNDUP: Jokes about robbery don't sit well
Whitefish Police were unable to locate suspects after an establishment on U.S. 93 told two men that they would have to hurry if they wanted to buy alcohol after 2 a.m. The men took their time, missed the deadline, and when the worker refused to sell to the men, one allegedly said, “Well i guess I’ve got to rob you, where’s my gun?” The other man allegedly laughed and told the man to back off. The worker noted that the manner of the remark was joking in nature, but that she was required to call the police by her employer.
An officer ran an identity check on a man trying to get help from a church after he allegedly lost all of his belongings on a train that he missed.
An officer found that all parties involved in a fight had left after restaurant staff called and reported that a young woman had run into the establishment crying and saying that she was afraid for her life during an altercation. She said she was almost hit in the fight.
Columbia Falls Police took a report of a missing 12-year-old who allegedly took off and did not get on a school bus after arguing with his sister. The boy eventually ended up at school.
An officer was able to get suspects to return a work truck and trailer after they allegedly made off with them for five days. The trailer and truck were returned to the police department, but a work list of jobs to be done was allegedly missing.
An officer determined that a discipline issue has caused a young girl to run from her father’s home to her mother’s home. The girl was left in the care of her mother.
Flathead County Sheriff’s Office investigated the report of a gunshot wound to the leg on Larch Lane in Creston.
