LAW ROUNDUP: Man takes justice into his own hands during alleged dog attack

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office took a report after a man outside Columbia Falls allegedly shot a dog that was attacking his family’s dog on his property.

A deputy responded to a garage where a rental car that had been stolen was being fixed. A worker found two syringes with a black tarry substance in the vehicle. A deputy disposed of the syringes.

A man on Farm to Market Road reported that three five-gallon gas cans full of fuel had been stolen from a garage.

A woman was taken to the hospital after a man allegedly choked her until she lost consciousness after allegedly trying to retrieve her generator from a location in Columbia Falls.

A man turned himself in to authorities on a warrant for felony driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.


A man gave Kalispell Police a video of annother man taking a work radio and battery out of his truck.

A man went to a storage unit on North Meridian Road and found that sometime since October someone had cut the lock to his unit, stolen items, and replaced it with a similar lock.

A man on Seventh Avenue West reported that his daughter had freaked out and punched him, caused an earring to lodge in his neck, and then left. The man asked officers to search for the woman, who allegedly had two young children with her.

A syringe and needle were found inside a bag outside a government office where people receive government benefits. The syringe was properly disposed of.


Columbia Falls Police Department separated parties at Wildcat Drive after roommates got into a disagreement and one allegedly threatened to “get” the other.

Eight men were separated after a brawl outside of a bar.


Whitefish Police fielded a call from U.S. 93 where a man had to be taken to the hospital after allegedly being assaulted by his brother.


Montana Highway Patrol responded to a crash on U.S. 2 between Nyack and West Glacier. The eastbound lane was blocked for the multi-vehicle accident and an air ambulance was dispatched.
