LETTER: Why support Trump? Because he's not Clinton
Bob McClellen asked a question in the opinion page Sunday: “How could we think of electing Donald Trump?” Through the entire length of his candidacy, I have asked the same question.
Now, the answer to that question is crystal clear to me. It is because the only other choice is Hillary. Donald is an arrogant blowhard whose true intentions are as of yet unknown to me. However, Hillary seems very clear about what she will do to our country, and I won’t be helping her and the Democratic Party destroy the country my family has served to protect.
Since I’m here, perhaps someone can clear up a question for me. I have been wondering how the Democrats’ pre-determined “perfect choice” (she has female genitalia after all) is repeatedly losing to an ancient socialist. The Democrats didn’t even try to do better than that corrupt woman. At least the Republicans were able to put up some options. I personally don’t think that they made the best choice, but it is done.
So in answer to your confusion about the subject, Mr. McClellan, the reason we can think of voting for Donald is because we still have some hope that the skills and abilities he’s obtained in the business world will translate somehow and end up a net positive for our country and that he can understand the difficult concept of “top secret” information and how to handle it.
There is zero hope that the Democratic candidate, who should be imprisoned, not elected, will do anything to improve the state of our nation, period. Her greatest ability is being able to lie without shame. Even an annoyingly arrogant windbag like Donald is better than that.
