LAW ROUNDUP: Vehicle legal, driver maybe not so
A Columbia Falls Police officer stopped a woman for driving with an expired registration, but found out that the vehicle was actually legally registered. Unfortunately for the woman, the officer found out that she had a suspended driver’s license and multiple outstanding warrants. She was cited and released.
Whitefish Police received information about someone who had a warrant out for someone who “must” be arrested according to the warrant. An officer followed up at a local event venue, arrested the individual and turned him or her over to Kalispell Police for transport to the Flathead County Detention Center.
An officer and Montana Highway Patrol took a man to jail after he was suspected of driving drunk. A blood draw was conducted at the hospital.
A window to a business on Central Avenue was broken. An officer stuck around until the mess could be boarded up and the building secured.
An ambulance was sent to the bridge by the Tea Kettle boat launch in Columbia Falls, where a man allegedly leapt from the bridge in a suicide attempt. The man was conscious after the incident.
Kalispell Police told an upset man that a sporting event was taking place and that nothing illegal had occured after he called to complain that 700 vehicles were parked illegally and that he was having trouble getting around. He did note that flaggers were directing cars.
