LETTER: Grow up, Donald

| May 29, 2016 9:30 AM

Donald Trump, America needs you as its president. The major reason you are the only person for the job is you are a very successful businessman and you are NOT a politician (hence not beholden to the “pork barrel, self serving office holders” who have lined their own pockets at the expense of our countries welfare.

This once very strong and rich nation has slipped so far backward, due to the lack of leadership, that to recover its rightful station once again will require a very strong and RESPECTED leader. You have proved your negotiating skills by your business successes, i.e., finding experts in your field of endeavor and appointing or hiring them, and, most importantly of all, listening to them. You have said you would do this as president.

Had the present administration listened to our military leaders, the Middle East would be a much less caustic thorn in the world’s side. The nuclear threat that our deadliest enemy has now negotiated with our present moron in office, and which he has even agreed to help finance, needs to be negated. If he thinks we can monitor this program he needs to go back and take a class in “We Fool You 101.”

The other area you would shine is renegotiating our trade agreements across the board. This would level the playing field, bringing companies back to, and compelling them to stay in, the USA, hence more jobs, better wages, larger tax base. Once the economics are in place, you will be able to rebuild our horribly depleted military. Get rid of the non-warrior types — those who want to lower the standard for the SEALs and Special Forces so that women will pass the test.

To make this happen, Mr. Trump, you must alter your profile. I am positive your very bright children have counseled you on this subject. Stop the cheap shots, the childish personal attacks, grow into manhood and stick to telling how you will fix health care, illegal immigration and the many other problems that are now of dire importance to this country. I am not interested in the Clinton history, who eats what and how, or others’ personal appearance. Get on to the things that matter.
