LAW ROUNDUP: Man hit by car possibly injured in crash

Kalispell Police responded to East Center Street for the report of a man hit by a car. The victim reportedly left the scene, then called police and said he had a broken leg. The driver called and said that the man had allegedly thrown himself under the vehicle. One caller worried that the victim might be hiding until he could jump out in front of someone else. The victim was located and transported to the hospital because he claimed he was hurt. It was noted the emergency personnel did not observe any visible injuries and that the patient was not cooperative with medical responders.

Antiques, guns, and swords were reported stolen from North Meridian Road.

Officers told a man on East Montana Street to move along after someone asked for a welfare check. The man was allegedly lying face down in a some rocks outside of a business with his pants down.

Three youths on Sixth Avenue West were counseled after they were caught by an officer smashing pumpkins. The pumpkin debris was cleaned up.

Four teens allegedly stole two boxes of wine from a location on U.S. 93.

A middle-aged woman was sent on her way after she showed up at a school and began taking her clothes and sweatshirt off. The woman allegedly was panicking about TNT and explosives blowing up. She showed the caller a bandage and a lighter. The caller noted that the woman did not appear to be a threat to anyone.

A woman on Second Avenue West reported that her locked vehicle door had been pried open, and her credit cards stolen overnight.

Whitefish Police Department responded to Fairway View, where a mom and her daughter had locked themselves in a bedroom after an alarm went off. The woman eventually holstered up with a gun on her hip, and emerged. She and an officer found that everything was OK.

A 2013 Kia was reported as the victim vehicle of a hit and run accident at Lupfer Avenue. The caller had a suspect in mind.

A 2011 Toyota Sienna was the reported victim vehicle of a hit and run accident at an unknown location. The reporting party noted that he or she had only noticed the damage after the fact, but thought it might have occurred in a construction zone.


Columbia Falls Police Department took a report from a schoolhouse where someone had taken the signs advertising for a book fair. The suspected thieves were caught on video.

An officer promised to do extra patrol after a someone reported that teenagers had allegedly been climbing on the fence and roof at a school.

Three teen girls were allegedly caught on camera stealing bags of candy from a store.
