No smoke, no fire, just bad batteries

A Talbot Pines Loop resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department for help with problematic fire alarms. The caller was advised to try changing the batteries in the devices, and if that didn’t work to call the non-emergency line to request further assistance.

Someone called the police for help moving a tire that was reportedly blocking a lane on Ninth Street West. Officers were unable to locate the tire.

A Third Avenue West resident told police he suspected his son or friends may have stolen some items from his home and garage.

A Fourth Avenue West resident called to report a suspicious man on a bike in the neighborhood, who was allegedly circling the block and looked to be casing houses. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

A caller told police there was a bear wandering in the South Veterans Drive area.

A Martha Road resident called to complain about noisy neighbors. Officers spoke with the party-goers, who agreed to quiet down for the night.

A caller told the Whitefish Police Department there was a bike that appeared to be abandoned in a lot off Miles Street. Officers retrieved the bike.

A man reported that his vehicle was vandalized on Depot Street while he was working overnight. The caller said it looked like someone may have shot one of the windows with a BB gun.

An employee of a Spokane Avenue hotel called for help when a man allegedly checked in and then began making threats, throwing things and attempting to climb over the front counter. The man was arrested.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of an illegal burn on Eider Drive.

The South Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on U.S. 93 South.

The Marion Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on Lodgepole Drive in Marion.
