Floyd Elmer Grigg, 75

Floyd Elmer Grigg, 75, a longtime resident of Columbia Falls passed away on Nov. 16, 2016.

Floyd was born to Maurice (Jock) Grigg and Celestine Blades on July 25, 1941 in the Mosquito Flats area of Columbia Falls. He graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1959. After graduation Floyd became a journeyman ironworker. During his career he traveled to many different locations throughout the United States. He worked for many years at the Tonopah Test Site in Tonopah, Nevada and most recently worked at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company prior to his retirement.

Floyd was married to Mary Lou Walton on Dec. 31, 1966 in Columbia Falls. They were married for 39 years. They raised two children together, Tara and Mike.

Floyd enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, cutting firewood and spending time with his family. One of his great joys was spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was known for his great sense of humor and could always be counted on for a smile and a laugh.

In his later years he enjoyed spending time picking huckleberries and the annual camping trips to Canada with his sweetheart and devoted friend Donna Marsh.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents Maurice Grigg and Celestine Blades Grigg and his sister Nadine McLauchlin.

He leaves behind his son, Michael Grigg his wife, Kim and children Abbey and Ty; his daughter, Tara Harvey her husband, Russ and children Mckenna and Justin; brother, Melvin Grigg and his wife Carol; sister, Geraldine Gimbel; and brother in laws Don Gimbel and Carl McLauchlin.

At the request of Floyd there will not be a service.
