LETTER: Epic rant reveals left's willingness to destroy U.S.

I’d like to thank the Inter Lake for publishing Ryan Lawlor’s epic rant about the election on Nov. 13. It’s rare to see such an honest snapshot of the progressive left’s mindset regarding America and its citizenry, particularly this gleaming drop of honesty: “I’m rooting for this sick version of ‘Ameerca’ to fail utterly. The world needs it to fail!” So much clearer and less ambiguous than veiled phrases about “fundamentally transforming America.”

People do not seek to destroy or transform a thing beyond recognition unless they consider it valueless. I believe it’s worth keeping in mind the fact that Progressives of this mindset have controlled the levers of power and policy in the Democrat Party for more than 20 years and have a near monopoly over academia and curriculum in the U.S. “education” (indoctrination?) system that is twisting the minds of our rising generations to think like Mr. Lawlor.

America’s citizens would be well-advised to keep these considerations in mind as we watch this new chapter of our country’s history unfold. Remember them as well whenever we are again called to make our voices and will known in future elections and decisions about how we will allow our money to be spent, in education and everywhere else. —Ron McClellan, Polson
