LAW ROUNDUP: Woman's struggle with alcohol goes public

A woman reportedly stole a bottle of alcohol and left on foot on U.S. 2 West. The same woman, by now intoxicated and holding a large bottle of booze, allegedly refusing to leave a location on Bing Court. She was reportedly breaking things and ripped someone’s shirt, according to a Kalispell Police Department report. 

Young boys were allegedly lighting a fire, or fireworks, in a ballfield south of town. One of the boys was spotted trying to jump a fence and getting on a bicycle headed toward Airport Road. The boys also reportedly left behind a fire extinguisher near a bus at the field. 

A call came in later with someone reporting that a fire extinguisher had been sprayed all over the inside of buses that were allegedly broken into at the ballfield and that there was profanity written on the inside of one bus.

Someone told police that his or her card was switched with a woman’s at a U.S. 93 North business and he or she had no way of contacting the woman. The pair were later able to get in contact and work the situation out.

A trailer overturned on Fifth Avenue West and West Center Street. The trailer wound up on its side and was blocking traffic.

An employee on Airport Road told police that two men were trying to beat up another man and reportedly rammed the man’s head into a glass door, possibly breaking the window. The victim had allegedly stolen something. 

Officers talked to a crying, highly intoxicated woman who told someone to call law enforcement because she got “jacked.” The woman, who allegedly peed in her pants, claimed someone reached into her car, took her purse and pulled a large piece of hair out of her scalp. The woman reportedly refused a ride home, and when an officer attempted to help her find her purse at a business, an employee told police a man had earlier been arguing with the woman about not driving. The woman then locked her vehicle and walked away before police could talk to her more. The next morning, the woman went to the police station to report that her purse was allegedly taken by force by her boyfriend and that he assaulted her by pulling a “wad of hair from her head,” and asked for a witness statement form.

A vehicle struck a pole on Third Avenue East North. The driver was reportedly distracted by his cell phone, jumped a curb and struck the pole.

A man allegedly tried to break down someone’s door on Empire Loop.

A man on West Idaho Street called law enforcement looking for another man who was allegedly violating his probation/parole and living with his mom in a van that was spotted at a gas station.

A vehicle on U.S. 93 North allegedly hit a man’s shopping cart while he was walking into the parking lot and the man reported having knee pain.

Three young boys on North Meridian Road reportedly damaged an office with sticks and were playing on a park bench, breaking it.


Two vehicles were spotted driving through soccer fields heading toward Lake Blaine Road in Kalispell according to a Flathead County Sheriff’s Office report.

A woman allegedly sat on an 11-year-old on Canyon Road in Hungry Horse because the girl was making noise. The woman was counseled on “trying a different route” to discipline the youth.

Several people in vehicles and a motorhome allegedly became aggressive when a woman on Montana 35 in Kalispell asked them to leave because they were trespassing. 

Storage units had reportedly been broken into on U.S. 93 South.

Someone’s landlord on Dower Draw in Kila allegedly was harassing a tenant by going into the house without proper notification and moving things around.

Children were spotted throwing crabapples at someone’s truck on Willow Glen Drive in Kalispell.

A man and woman were reportedly trespassing on someone’s Steel Mountain Road property in Columbia Falls. They may have cut down a birch tree or birch boughs. 


Columbia Falls Police Department received a report that a man allegedly prevented a woman from driving away by lying down under her car.


Evergreen Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on U.S. 2 East.


Creston Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Mennonite Church Road.
