LAW ROUNDUP: Please don't play Pokemon in traffic

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop and warned a person about not trapping Pokemon while driving. 

A deputywas dispatched to Marion where a landlord suspected that a tenant who was moving out might have been the culprit who hooked up to a home and ripped out a porch. The vandal also allegedly backed over a septic tank. The landlord was advised how he might go through the proper eviction process. 

A tow truck was called after someone reported that a man appeared to be hanging unconscious out the window of a pickup truck that was hauling a wood splitter. The person was unsure of the exact location of truck. When authorities arrived, they found that the driver appeared to be very, very drunk. 

A couple on Helena Flats Road reported that they were just frustrated with each other about their lack of Thanksgiving plans after someone called, worried the pair might be hurting each other. The caller heard someone screaming, crying, and yelling “please don’t kick me.” A person was worried because there was allegedly a child in the home. 

A woman on Danielson Road outside of Kalispell was told that hunters did have permission to hunt on property and did not fire shots in an unsafe direction after she complained that someone had allegedly been shooting in a residential area. 

A woman on Lion Mountain Loop Road told dispatchers she would call back if she noticed any other suspicious activity after she reported hearing shots in her back yard and then seeing someone on foot flee from the scene. 

A case was referred to Fish, Wildlife and Parks officers after a man outside of Columbia Falls complained that someone had killed a deer on his property, allegedly without proper permission. 

A woman in Martin City was advised that she might want to file for an order of protection after the father of her children allegedly rolled into town for Thanksgiving high on methamphetamine. Someone else had complained that the man would not leave her home.  

A woman on Grand Drive in Bigfork reported that she had knocked on someone’s door to say that she could park anywhere she pleased, when the person opened the door, pulled a gun from a coat pocket and pointed it at the woman. The landlord was contacted to help sort the issue out. 

A man was able to get himself to safety after he fell off his wind-board and into Flathead Lake. Someone had seen the personless wind-board floating in the lake and worried about the fate of the person on it. 

A woman was advised that callers were likely scammers after they claimed she had won an $8,000 grant and only needed to give them $200 over the phone. 

Deputies found spent fireworks inside a mailbox on Farm-to-Market Road, after someone reported that someone had stuffed them in the receptacle and set them off. It was unclear if the mailbox owner wanted to pursue charges or not. 

 

Whitefish Police officers were unable to locate anyone after they received a call about a man and a woman fighting on Colorado Avenue. 

 

Columbia Falls Police helped someone reunite a mailbox and mail with their owner after the items were found in a backyard on 12th Avenue West. 

A wallet was returned to its owner after someone reported finding the wallet stuffed in a mailbox. 

 

Kalispell Police sent a special response team and negotiators to West Evergreen Drive for the report of a barricaded man, who had allegedly made threats to kill family members earlier in the day. The man was eventually taken to the hospital. 

A woman on South Woodland Drive reported all sorts of criminal mischief as some of her yard lights were broken, trash was strewn in her backyard, her mailbox was knocked over, and a sign she had put out was stolen. 

A man wanted to make a report after his underage daughter allegedly went to the pet store and was followed by a man in his 20s. The suspect reportedly grabbed the girl by the arm as she exited the store, asked if she had a boyfriend and offered to walk her to her car. The girl jerked her arm away around the same time an employee came out of the store and started yelling at the man, who allegedly took off. There wasn’t a good lead on who the man might be, but the concerned father wanted the incident logged for the police’s information. 

A woman was counseled after she reported that her husband had allegedly paid for sex the week before. 

Officers responded to a residence off Montana 35, where a man allegedly came at someone with a samurai sword. The man was believed to be drunk. No injuries were logged. 

Statements were collected from a fast-food restaurant on U.S. 2, where someone reported that he or she had seen a man slam a pregnant woman into the ground. 

Someone on Seventh Avenue East reported that three kids were throwing rocks at a home. 

A man was taken into custody at a nearby bar after someone reported that he had allegedly robbed two people at gunpoint on First Avenue West. The victims were OK, but the man apparently stole cash and cigarettes. 

Probation and parole officers OK’d taking a woman into custody after she reportedly was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of .173, after the woman’s romantic partner reported that she was drinking heavily, taking medication and being physically abusive at Seventh Avenue West. 

Authorities issued a an alert to officers after a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had broken into a house on Bierney Creek Road, beaten her with a gun and threatened to shoot the owner of the home. The woman was hysterical when she called and had a tough time relaying information to law enforcement. Dispatchers noted that the parties involved in the case had a documented drug problem. 

A man was taken from an apartment on Appleway Drive, after he allegedly punched a hole in a wall and kicked down a door in a drunken rage. 

Someone called from Whalebone Drive to report that he or she had driven to pick up 3-year-old and 5-year-old relatives and arrived to find that the 3-year-old allegedly had a meth pipe in her hand. An officer took a report and noted that there was a medical marijuana card on file for someone in the residence. 

Extra patrol was slated for East Washington Street after someone complained about a number of break-ins.
