Woman finds stray goats on porch

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report from someone on Airport Road who said that two goats were on her porch. The woman did not know where the goats had come from. The brand inspector was called.

Dispatch took a report from a woman who said her nephew had pulled a knife on her. The young man was taken to the hospital.

A man in Lakeside called to complain that his garden hose had been cut with a knife three weeks ago. An officer was unable to make contact with the man to address the complaint.

A woman from Hungry Horse said her yard and dog had been pepper-sprayed by a man. The man’s alleged handiwork irritated the airways of an 8-year-old child and an ambulance had to be called. The woman was advised how she might get a no-contact order. The woman called back later, upset and adamant that she wanted to press charges.

A person on Tamarack Woods Drive called from Lakeside to let law enforcement know that a black bear had been hanging around his property.

An animal control officer was dispatched to a trailer park outside Columbia Falls after someone reported that a man had thrown a puppy against the side of the trailer. The caller was concerned because it appeared that the pup was barely moving. The puppy was taken to an animal hospital.

Someone reported that a man on a Japanese motorbike allegedly was traveling down Twin Bridges Road near Whitefish, chasing deer. The reporting party said he or she had yelled at the man as he sped by. The reporting party heard two bangs as the bike traveled into the area, but could not definitively say whether or not the sound was gunfire.


Whitefish Police took a report from a man who had his wallet stolen from his center console while he was parked at a motel.

Someone reported that a teenage son was on house arrest and had been acting unruly. A pipe and whipped cream had allegedly been found in the boy’s room. The parent was counseled on options.


Columbia Falls Police took a report from a woman who complained that her brother’s friend had stolen her wallet. She was given advice and a form to fill out.


Kalispell Police took a phone call from someone who alleged that a man had sexually assaulted a 13-year-old and someone else in the past year. An investigation was opened.

No one was injured in a three-vehicle collision on North Main Street and West Oregon Street.

Someone complained that $3,800 had been paid to a contractor, but no work had been completed.

A man called for help claiming that he had received a letter that was “poisoned with anthrax” and that he was feeling ill. Law enforcement and a case worker were sent to evaluate the situation. It was noted that the man had a history of mental-health problems. Sheriff’s deputies and police determined the threat was not legitimate.
