Mary Elizabeth Plummer Riehl, 80

Mary Elizabeth Plummer Riehl, 80, passed away Sept. 7, 2016, of natural causes in Kalispell.

She was born Jan. 30, 1936, in Bedford, Pennsylvania, to Regis and Mary Irene Plummer. Her early home there is now sitting on display at the Old Bedford Village. Mary met and married Dennis W. Riehl on Oct. 19, 1972. It was “great for them both,” and they enjoyed raising four boys from a previous marriage. With Dennis being in the military, they moved a few times, and enjoyed the new adventures that came along with it.

Mary worked as office manager for a custom shutter company for 18 years before she retired. She then became a homemaker, tending to the family’s needs and growing a few flowers. Her favorite thing to make was afghans, which she made for many family members as gifts.

She was preceded in death by her parents Regis and Mary Irene Plummer; brothers, Ralph, Bill and Jerry; sister, Sarah; and son, Carl.

Mary is survived by her husband, Dennis W. Riehl, of Kalispell; sons, Chet (Terry), Robert (Beth), and Mark; brother, Robert Plummer of Georgia; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many great friends of hers whom she always talked to.
