LETTER: Right track, or wrong track?
In case you missed it, a recent Bloomberg News national poll posed the following question:
“Is America headed on the right or wrong track?” The response from 70 percent of the public was “wrong track.”
How do the two candidates stack up?
Hillary Clinton is for staying the course and continuing existing policies. That means no change in the economy; a shortage of jobs; and indecision on immigration, Obamacare, military preparedness, taxes, foreign affairs, Islamic terrorism, and related conflicts in the Middle East. All would continue to be addressed as presently.
Donald Trump means no more status quo. All of the above would be slated for major change.
Clinton’s supporters are banking on her experience in the Senate and as secretary of state as they campaign to garner the required 270 Electoral College votes to capture the presidency.
Trump’s supporters are convinced their candidate’s “Making America Great Again” proposals are essential to returning our nation to being back on the right track.
At times the public has been dismayed with both candidates over their personal attacks on each other and their lack of clarity and specifics in dealing with the issues.
Not withstanding the raucous campaigns, now entering the final stages, the public will soon make its choice. For what it’s worth I’d recommend choosing the hair-do over the pantsuit.
For good measure you might include the four-word prayer (and you don’t have to write it on the ballot) but carry it in your heart: “May God Bless America.” —Stan Stephens, Kalispell
