LETTER: Stephens right; let's elect Trump

| September 29, 2016 11:00 AM

The Sept. 19 letter from our former governor, Stan Stephens, regarding our presidential hopefuls was right on target.

Frankly, I don’t believe either of them are presidential material. Mrs. Clinton was anointed by the elites in the Democratic Party, and the Republican elites didn’t consider Donald Trump as their candidate. However, Mr. Trump did his homework and knew the concerns of the people: Immigration reform (stopping the millions of Mexican illegals at the border, denying Muslim refugees from entering our country); taking care of our veterans; trade imbalances; and the economy. Mrs. Clinton, on the other hand, has elected to follow the president’s policies of amnesty and receiving thousands of Muslim refugees without proper vetting. No mention of how the illegals are straining the social services, the schools and bankrupting hospital emergency services within our Southwestern states.

I want a candidate who will work for the citizens of our country, not the bureaucracy. Let’s make America great again, Mr. Trump!—Poul Houlberg, Kalispell
