FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Bigfork bolts by Malta; Eureka, Polson post wins

BIGFORK — Matt Farrier had touchdown runs of 1, 2, 5 and 17 yards and passed 31 yards to Anders Epperly for another as Bigfork pulled away in the second half for a 49-21 Class B nonconference football victory over Malta (2-3) on Friday night.

Bigfork (6-0) held a 20-14 lead at intermission.

Randy Stultz had touchdown runs of 7 and 65 yards for Bigfork.

Bigfork rolled up 469 yards of total offense to 250 for Malta. Bigfork rushed for 352 yards on 51 attempts.

Stultz had 25 carries for 179 yards and Farrier had 118 yards on 17 attempts. Farrier was 2 of 5 passing for 44 yards. Epperly led the air attack with four receptions for 70 yards.

Eureka 55, Thompson Falls 6

EUREKA — Austyn Sherwood caught a pair of touchdown passes from quarterback Garrett Graves, who also ran for two touchdowns and returned a fumble 31 yards for another score, as Eureka crushed Thompson Falls in a District 7B contest.

Eureka (5-1 overall, 2-0 league) led 28-6 at the half. Eureka had 512 yards in total offense to 232 for Thompson Falls. The Lions averaged 12 yards per play and did not have a penalty for the game.

Graves was 8 of 11 passing for 131 yards. He rushed nine times for 105 yards.

Cannan Smith had 14 carries for 169 yards and a touchdown.

Eureka’s Hank Dunn caught three passes for 45 yards.

Defensively for the Lions, linebacker James Dunn had 7 ½ tackles and cornerback Bryant Little had four.

McKenzie Holt used 14 carries to total 168 yards and a touchdown for Thompson Falls (1-5, 0-2).

POLSON — Polson did all of its scoring in the first half to blank Whitefish in a Northwestern A contest.

Polson (4-1, 2-0) has posted back-to-back shutouts.

Colton Cote, 19 carries for 132 yards, had touchdown runs of 1 and 8 yards and quarterback Tanner Wilson ran for two scores, 3 and 6 yards. Wilson was 7 of 8 passing for 108 yards.

Whitefish (2-4, 0-1) had 66 yards of total offense.
