Police investigate inappropriate signs

The Whitefish Police Department received a call about three young men standing on a corner on Hospital Way, displaying what the caller described as “vulgar” signs. The caller said she didn’t know who the men were or what their purpose was. An officer spoke with the men, who agreed to move along.

A woman told police that a “very large man” pushed her out of the way as she was exiting a store on U.S. 93 South, causing her to almost fall down. She said the man called her a profane name and then allegedly tried to hit her with his vehicle. She said she did not know the suspect.

A concerned caller told police there was a man stumbling around near the railroad tracks under the viaduct, and wanted him checked on for his own safety. Officers were unable to locate the man.

A Hidden Cedar Loop resident told the Columbia Falls Police Department that she had been out of town for 10 days, and upon returning found some belongings missing. The missing items included some guns as well as a vehicle.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to reports of an outdoor gas odor on East Second Street.

The South Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on Ashley Meadows.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to reports of a motor vehicle fire on Bernard Road.

The Bad Rock Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on Montana 206.

The West Valley Fire Department responded to reports of a motor vehicle fire on U.S. 93 North.
