Children's theater says 'Cowabunga'

| April 13, 2017 4:00 AM

The 15th annual “Cowabunga” variety show fundraiser for the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre and Bigfork ACES after-school program is Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts.

This year’s theme is “The Udder Limits” and will feature an evening of normal and not-so-normal talent, with high school teacher Charlie Appleby as the host. Special guests are scheduled to appear as well and an on-stage band will provide entertainment between acts. The show includes music, dance and comedy performances.

In past years, “Cowabunga” has raised upward of $10,000, with proceeds used for special projects including building repairs, kitchen equipment and other maintenance, all for either the Children’s Theatre or ACES.

The event has sold out in the past and tickets are available at a handful of Bigfork locations, including Electric Avenue Gifts, Bigfork Drug and Bigfork Elementary School, and online at www.bigforksummerplayhouse.com. Tickets are $12 for adults; $6 for children and students.

The Bigfork Children’s Playhouse Theatre reaches more than 5,000 children each year through performance participation, workshops, dance and audience opportunity. Visit www.bigforksummerplayhouse.com for more information.
