Grudge match: dogs vs. mailman

An age-old rivalry reared its head in a face off between a mail carrier and two dogs. The man was allegedly knocked down by a playful German shepherd and pursued by its more aggressive sibling, a red heeler. The man told Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies he was bruised and sore as a result of the showdown but was otherwise unharmed.

A “very rude man” was reported for shooting his gun on his property. Stray bullets were allegedly ricocheting off his intended target and flying toward neighboring properties.

A wolf mix and pit bull were reported for chasing livestock on West Cottonwood Drive. The owner of the two dogs was cited.

A party on Second Avenue East was interrupted when a woman noticed a group of people rummaging through multiple vehicles with flashlights in the parking lot, according to a Kalispell Police report.

Someone allegedly stole a breast pump from a facility on First Avenue West.

An alleged drug deal was reported on Fourth Avenue West.

A man was reportedly seen hiding with a dog behind a tree near a playground on Railway Street. The reporting person told Whitefish Police she believed the man had been there for a while and was watching people at the middle school nearby.

A woman claimed to have been assaulted by another woman at a bar on Nucleus Avenue. Columbia Falls Police officers took the bloody-faced woman to the North Valley Hospital for her injuries.

A number of tools were reported stolen from a vehicle on Ninth Street West.

A man discovered a prescription and several other items missing from his vehicle where it was parked on Sixth Street West.

Two winter coats were reportedly stolen from another car on Ninth Street West.
