Driver 'an accident waiting to happen'

A driver going down Ninth Street West reportedly cut off another vehicle, nearly clipping it, before running a red light. The caller told Columbia Falls Police that the vehicle was also traveling over the speed limit. The caller was reportedly unsure whether the driver was “on her cellphone or on drugs,” but stated “she’s an accident waiting to happen.”

A Tommy gun was allegedly stolen from the front passenger seat of a vehicle on Ninth Street West. The vehicle had been running and was unlocked.

A caller on Seventh Street West reported that he found his door kicked in when he returned home and that several items had been stolen.

A transient was reportedly setting up camp near the bypass on Fourth Street West, according to the Kalispell Police Department.

A vehicle had reportedly been abandoned on Fifth Avenue East.

A house on First Avenue West was allegedly broken into. A neighbor reported the incident after finding several broken windows. He also reported that the garage door appeared to have been pried open and items had been thrown on the floor inside the house.

A truck was reportedly stolen from a residence on Sixth Avenue West.

A caller near the intersection of Fifth Avenue East and 13th Street East reported that a pickup had been sitting in the middle of the road with its lights on for about half an hour.

A verbal altercation reportedly took place between five male transients near a church on First Avenue East.

A caller on Second Avenue East North reported that someone was repeatedly knocking on her door and window for 15 minutes. She reported that she could see someone’s hand knocking on her bedroom window, which faces the street, and that the motion light kept coming on.

An employee at a local lodge was reportedly “jumped” by several guests, a caller told Whitefish Police.

A caller on Highway 93 South found a note that said “I’m watching you” on his windshield.
