Weyerhaeuser donates to Senior Mobile Home Repair

| August 5, 2017 8:15 PM

A $10,000 donation from Weyerhaeuser was issued recently to the Senior Mobile Home Repair program, whose umbrella organization is Flathead County’s Agency on Aging. The program is designed to help seniors with maintenance and repairs they may not be able to afford otherwise.

According to a press release, dozens of local senior citizens are assisted every year with handicap ramps, plumbing, electrical wiring or anything they need not only to help them stay in their homes, but to do so with safe and sanitary conditions. Enabling seniors to stay in their homes also prevents them from having to seek housing funded by taxpayers.

In the press release, the Agency on Aging board thanked Weyerhaeuser for the generous donation, especially in light that the program is dependent on contributions. Board member Jim Atkinson describes the program as “An undergirding of the community, allowing our seniors to live comfortably and with dignity.”

Since the program is administrated through Flathead County, licensed and insured professionals do all of the work performed on the mobile homes, ranging from adaptive additions to water heaters and furnaces, Atkinson said.

Anyone interested in the program can call the Agency on Aging at 406-758-5730.
