Don't drink and drive-thru

An employee of a coffee kiosk on Baker Avenue called the Whitefish Police Department when a customer allegedly came through the drive-thru intoxicated, still drinking from an open beer can while placing his order from behind the wheel. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle described by the employee.

A Wisconsin Avenue resident called to complain about the noise coming from a nearby wedding venue. The caller said she was aware that the venue had permission to play the music until 10 p.m., but was still upset because she “can not sit out on the deck because the music is so loud.”

Someone reported a transient man walking along Skyles Place asking people for blankets. The woman was concerned the man might follow her home. Officers were unable to find the man, but did some extra patrols in the area.

Someone called about “a bunch of kids skinny-dipping, drinking and yelling” at a nearby beach. The caller also believed the group was trespassing. Officers told the group to move along.

A woman called police after discovering an intoxicated man passed out on a bench outside a U.S. 93 South hotel. Officers checked on the man and discovered he was at the wrong hotel. They took him to the right one.

A Diane Road resident called the Columbia Falls Police Department when she got home and discovered some electronics missing. The woman told police she thought someone may have broken in through a window and taken them.

The Hungry Horse Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on South Fork Road. They also responded to later reports of an illegal burn.

The Bigfork Fire Department, Evergreen Fire Department, Coram-West Glacier Fire Department, Marion Fire Department, Smith Valley Fire Department and Whitefish Fire Department all responded to reports of illegal burns on Saturday at various locations around the valley.
