Hot temper battles with hot-air balloon

The pilot of a hot-air balloon reportedly received a threatening voicemail from an angry woman. The woman allegedly threatened to shoot the hot-air balloon down if it flew over her house. Flathead County sheriff’s deputies counseled the woman and told her she could not shoot at the balloon because she would be shooting at people.

A stray pig was reported for ruining freshly poured concrete at a residence on Gopher Lane. The workers on site were reportedly afraid of the pig and threatened to shoot it. The pig’s owners were contacted and reunited with their porker before the workers could turn it into bacon.

Someone reportedly found a gun while out huckleberry picking. The gun was not reported stolen.

A man was reportedly seen running around near Montana 40 yelling that someone had sprayed him with bear spray.

A group of four men were reported for being “creepy” and taking photos at a boat launch of either the vehicles parked there or the women in them.

Over 100 feet of garden hose were reported stolen on Church Drive.

A group of motorcyclists were reported for driving recklessly through Lawrence Park, popping wheelies and speeding. Deputies confronted the group about their driving.

About two dozen kids were reportedly seen jumping off a bridge on Montana 35.

A woman’s dogs were reported for running at large and charging a man while he was out walking his own dog. While a deputy was checking on the dogs, the angry owner said the dogs could not have possibly left the yard because they had shock collars on. Wanting to prove it, she went down the road and called to her dogs. After a few moments, both dogs took off down the road toward her. The woman said she would change the batteries in their collars.

While taking out his garbage, a resident of South Foys Lake Drive reportedly found a backpack full of drugs and paraphernalia.

A woman reported her neighbor for shooting at her rabbits in a residential area. The man allegedly told her the rabbits were rodents and he could shoot them whenever he wanted.

An Ashley Lake resident reported a man for allegedly knocking on her door. When she told the man she wouldn’t open the door, she said he “went nuts.” The man then allegedly offered her $500 to open the door, which she refused to do. The man eventually left the premises.

A shirtless male was reportedly running around near the railroad tracks. The reporting person said the male seemed intoxicated and “very happy.”

A restaurant’s delivery driver was reportedly speeding on Second Avenue West North and almost ran over a woman carrying her child. The woman told Kalispell Police she complained to the restaurant but wanted to make a formal report as well.

Two huskies reportedly wandered into someone’s house. Following the unexpected visit, the homeowner called the dogs’ owner to retrieve them.

A couple returned home and reported hearing a strange thump from somewhere in the house. Upon further investigation, they allegedly found three large TVs and their couch missing.

Kids were reported for stealing a stop sign on Sherry Lane.

Someone on Fifth Avenue West reported hearing a gunshot and then a woman screaming for help. Officers were unable to locate anything out of order upon arrival.

A man was reportedly caught on camera stealing two male sexual-enhancement pills from a store on Central Avenue, according to Whitefish Police.

A couple was reported for dining and dashing when they allegedly left a restaurant without paying their tab.
