Sonya Palmer, 68

Sonya (Son yo) Palmer passed away on Aug. 4, 2017, at her home in Kalispell at the age of 68 years.

Sonya was born Aug. 27, 1948, and was the fourth child born to Hak Chun Nam and Wol Sok Kim in Tongsong-myon, South Korea. Sonya had four sisters, Ok Hui Nam, Ok Pun Nam, Ok Cha Nam and Ok Sun Nam, and two brothers, Chong O Nam and Chong Sik Mam, all of South Korea.

Sonya wed Brent James Palmer on March 21, 1973, in Seoul, South Korea.

Sonya is survived by her husband Brent, two children, Raymond of Marion, and Dawn (Brian) of Medford, Oregon, and granddaughter Ashley Palmer.

Sonya was an avid outdoorsman. She loved to garden and travel to the local mountains to pick huckleberries and mushrooms. She was a very hard worker and spent 22 years working at Finnegan’s in Kalispell.

Sonya was cremated at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.

A memorial service for family and friends will be conducted in the spring of 2018.
