Tyler Childers to play the Remington in Whitefish

| August 17, 2017 12:56 PM

Singer-songwriter Tyler Childers will make a tour stop at the Remington Bar in Whitefish on Friday, Aug. 18. He is on tour currently promoting his debut album “Purgatory.”

Like many Southern storytellers, Childers has fallen in love with a place. The people, landmarks and legendary moments from his childhood home of Lawrence County, Kentucky, populate the 10 songs on “Purgatory,” an album “that’s simultaneously modern and as ancient as the Appalachian Mountains in which events unfold.”

In addition to Childers (vocals, acoustic guitar), the album features a variety of world-renowned musicians, including Sturgill Simpson (acoustic guitar, background vocals), Stuart Duncan (fiddle), Miles Miller (drums, background vocals) and Russ Pahl (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, pedal steel, jaw harp) among others.
