Zino and the Bel Aires play on new stage

On Saturday, Aug. 19, Zino and the Bel Aires will perform for the inaugural show at the new LaSalle Grange Theatre.The restored performance center is located on U.S. 2, two miles north of Glacier Park International Airport.

Zino and the Bel Aires specialize in rock and roll from 1950-1963 (pre-British invasion). This six-piece band features three-part vocal harmonies in genres popular at the time, including rockabilly, rock ‘n’ roll, surf, doowop, teen idol and rhythm and blues.

The group features the vocal stylings of two front men, Matt Avanzino and Kurt Weber. The tenor sax is played by Fred Jones, who is a veteran of the U.S. Navy Band. Local guitar teacher and history of rock ‘n’ roll instructor Steve Eckels plays a vintage Gretch guitar, and the group is supported by Tom Esch on bass and Chuck Martin on drums.

Tickets are $28 and available in advance online at https://www.lasallegrangetheatre.com or at the door. The price includes a desert reception from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and concert admission and seating. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.
