Deer down in yard causes concern

A Wisconsin Avenue resident told the Whitefish Police Department that there was a buck down in his front yard. He said his neighbors had heard gunshots in the area the night before, and he thought the incidents might be related.

A sign on Central Avenue was reportedly found torn and hanging down on the sidewalk.

A woman called police after locking her keys in her car at a business on Riverside Avenue. Police advised her to contact a locksmith or tow company for assistance.

A group was reportedly being disorderly at the marina. Officers asked the party causing problems to leave.

Someone called to report a garbage can and its contents had been dumped all over the road on Central Avenue.

A Wisconsin Avenue resident called to report someone setting off fireworks nearby, possibly the Barkley Lane area. Officers didn’t find anything amiss, but were going to do some extra patrols.

An employee at an East Lakeshore Drive business called for help dealing with an allegedly intoxicated, belligerent female. The caller said the woman needed help getting home, but was refusing to provide any information that might get her there, like her name or address. The woman did reportedly find her way home.

An employee at a U.S. 93 South gas station called police to report a man who had stopped to fuel his vehicle earlier in the night but was still parked at the gas terminal. Officers found that the man had worked a long shift at work and had fallen asleep in the vehicle.

Someone called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report that a suspicious black van had pulled into the lot near a Fourth Avenue East North business. Police were unable to locate the vehicle, or anything suspicious, in the area.

A caller told police a dog had been barking for several hours at a Darlene Road residence. Everything was quiet when officers responded.

The Somers-Lakeside Fire Department responded to reports of a dumpster fire.

The Blankenship Rural Fire District responded to reports of an illegal burn on Polebridge Loop.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to reports of an illegal burn on Harmony Road.

The Bigfork Fire Department responded to reports of a power lines emergency on Swan Retreat Road.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to reports of an illegal burn on Second Avenue East.
