Peaceful Drive reportedly not so peaceful

A resident of Peaceful Drive reported hearing a series of gunshots coming from the somewhere in the not so peaceful neighborhood, according to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.

An alleged assault reportedly landed a man in the hospital with “his eye nearly torn out of its socket,” according to the man’s father. The father told deputies that the suspect allegedly gave his son a fraudulent check to cash and that the assault was a result from a confrontation over it. The man also said a gun may have been involved but it was not clear how.

A large buffalo statue was reported stolen from North Fork Road.

A resident of Mountain Drive reported having a problem with skunks and bats. The woman complained that the unwelcome pests were being drawn to the area because of garbage in a neighbor’s yard.

A man on Two Bridges Road reportedly dug up about four pounds of dynamite.

Multiple vehicles were reportedly broken into while parked near the Middle Fork.

Three campers were reportedly seen with a campfire near the Flathead River. When officers responded, they found the still-burning fire had been abandoned and put it out.

Several vehicles were reportedly broken into near Moccasin Creek and several items stolen.

A local church was reported for putting a semi-permanent sticker on a public sidewalk. Kalispell Police gave the church staff copies of the city codes banning posters on public grounds.

A woman reportedly woke up to find someone stealing her car. The vehicle was last seen headed eastbound on U.S. 2.

A man reported a 12-year-old girl for taking his phone and refusing to give it back. The man was allegedly staring at the girl who was holding his phone as he made the call.

A vehicle was reportedly stolen from a parking lot. The owner had no suspects.

A driver was reported for endangering the public by throwing a cigarette butt out of his window.

An injured seagull reportedly caused a traffic problem as cars attempted to maneuver around it. The bird was allegedly still alive and flapping around in the road with a broken wing.

A vehicle reportedly ran into a store and then left the scene, according to Whitefish Police.

Someone reportedly stole furniture from a store on East First Street.
