Venus Gloria Guest, 91

Venus Gloria Guest, a longtime resident of Kalispell, passed away Feb. 22, 2017, in Portland at the age of 91.

Born on Oct. 3, 1925 in Billings, she was one of three children born to Ora and Garlan Qualls. In September of 1937 her family moved to Tacoma, Washington, where she met and married of husband of 64 years, Francis LaMar Guest. Venus and Fran had five children, LaMar, Muriel, Marlene, Mark and Kevin. They are the grandparents of 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Venus was involved in a variety of community and religious organizations and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in numerous callings including Relief Society president three times. Venus and Fran also served a full-time mission in the New York Rochester Mission.

Venus loved music and was an accomplished pianist. Her life revolved around her family and her religion.

Venus was preceded in death by her parents, Ora and Garlan Qualls, her brother Gary, her husband Francis, and her granddaughter Erin. She is survived by her five children, LaMar and Bobbi Guest of West Jordan, Utah, Muriel Guest-Reed of Kalispell, Marlene Francis of Portland, Mark and Grace Guest of Kalispell, and Kevin and Lori Guest of Riverton, Utah; her sister, Deanna Freiberg, of Kalispell; and 43 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Whitefish Stage Road in Kalispell. Viewing will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 4, with funeral services at 11 a.m. and burial at C.E Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
