Deer with three feet gets around OK

Whitefish Police received a report of a deer with a missing foot lying beneath a tree in town. The caller thought the deer was suffering and would have to be dispatched, but officers found the deer was able to walk.

Someone brought a white fluffy dog without a collar to the Whitefish police station. The owner was contacted and reunited with the dog.

A woman lost her purse at a local bar. The woman said the purse contained a “ton of money,” along with her credit and debit cards.

Whitefish police helped push a vehicle from a snowbank in town.

Columbia Falls Police told an elderly man burning something in a shed behind a thrift store that he can’t burn things there.

Dispatch received a call from a worried woman whose daughter had been receiving texts from a man threatening to destroy her home.

A Columbia Falls man called police to confirm if a state highway trooper was indeed searching for his fiancee. The caller believed the person claiming to be a trooper over the phone was impersonating the law enforcement officer. Police gave him contact information for the state Highway Patrol office.

While arguing with his brother over a cat, a man called Columbia Falls police, but hung up. Both men told law enforcement it was just an argument, and no laws were broken.
