Myra Louise (Shaw) Birky, 54, passed away Jan. 3, 2017.

She spent the last 20 plus years battling cancer. She was an amazing lady. Even though she endured a great deal of pain, she always had a positive attitude.

Myra was born in Kalispell to Dwight L. Shaw and Margaret (Peggy) Everett Shaw on Oct. 28, 1962. Myra attended Kalispell Adventist grade school and later went to the Bozeman Adventist Academy. She then attended Flathead High School.

At the age of 19, Myra married Frank L. Birky. They enjoyed their early years participating in local softball games, hiking and gardening. In 1989, life took on a new meaning with the birth of their first son. During the following few years with the birth of three more sons, their family was complete. They shared with their boys their love of nature and the importance of family.

Myra was preceded in death by her baby brother, Bruce, her mother, father and her husband, Frank.

Her incredible kindness and loving spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She will be forever loved by those who have survived her. Myra is survived by her four sons, Bruce, Seth, Tristen and Adam Birky. She is also survived by her siblings, Yvonne Shaw, Dwight E. Shaw and Laura J. (Shaw) Gettig, all of Kalispell; and her brother, Lewis Shaw of Washington. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In celebration of the life of Myra Birky, a luncheon will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the Eagles Hall, 37 1st Street West, in Kalispell.
