Anneli Elizabeth Margaret (Flechsig) Heintz, 90

The “Lord Jesus Christ sent his holy angels to take” Anneli Elizabeth Margaret (Flechsig) Heintz “to heaven” on Jan. 9, 2017, following a short illness.

Ann believed that through Christ’s death and resurrection, he forgave her sins as he forgives the sins of all people who repent and believe in him.

Ann was born on March 4, 1926, in Havre, the daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Schickendanstz) Flechsig.

She was raised on the family farm north of Havre, attending Border grade school and graduating from Havre High School in May 1944.

She attended Northern Montana College for one year and became a teacher during World War II for the same rural school that she had attended as a child.

In June of 1946 she married Lloyd T. Heintz who had served in the Army Air Force during the war. They subsequently moved to Lewistown where they raised their family. After her children were in school, she worked at Don’s Store in Lewistown, enjoying many jobs in the store for over 40 years.

In 2014, she moved to Kalispell to be closer to her daughter.

She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, first at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Havre and then at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lewistown. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Columbia Falls at the time of her death.

She is survived by her three children, Mark R. Heintz and David L. Heintz, both of Sutter Creek, California, and Carla Ann (Roger) Swearengen of Kalispell; siblings, Walter (Betty) Flechsig of Havre, and Eleanor (Skip) Griffith, of Kent, Washington; three granddaughters, five great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Lloyd, a miscarried daughter, and a son, Robin L. Heintz.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan. 18 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Columbia Falls with the Rev. Matt Nelson presiding.

A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 19 at the Lewistown City Cemetery, with reception to follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Lutheran Bible Translators, Mission Central or the Orphan Grain Train.
